Dear Mr. Braimoh,

On behalf of World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (WANGO), we are delighted to welcome the African British Diaspora Returnees Organization to our family of NGOs as a Regular Organization Member. Your new membership and your support are both deeply valued.

A username and password is required to access the “Member Section” of the website (www.wango.org), which contains the Organization Membership List, Sharing Resources, Multiplying Resources, and other features. Once you have accessed your Member Section, you have the option of changing these to any combination of letters and/or numbers by selecting the Change Username/Password icon and entering the new information. This same password allows access to the NGO Handbook (www.ngohandbook.org).

As NGOs are the main focus of the Association, Regular Organization Members have the right to designate one voting representative to the WANGO General Assembly, and have the right to hold elective office in the Association and guide the direction of the organization. Members of your organization also may participate in all meetings and international conventions of the Association, at discounted rates. A complete description of the Association’s mission, activities, member benefits, governance and bylaws and more can be found in the Member’s Handbook, which can be found online at http://www.wango.org/members.aspx.

Future correspondence from our office, including the NGO News and Beyond Boundaries, will be routed through the email address on your member site; therefore, please make sure it is kept up-to-date. Corrections/updates can be made online by selecting Update Member Information on your Member Page accessed through the Member Section. If you are unable to do this online, please send the changes necessary to [email protected].

All Members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the organization bylaws and standing rules, which are posted in the About WANGO section of the website, to fully understand their rights and responsibilities. Please visit our website regularly athttp://www.wango.org for updates on activities, organizational matters and membership services.

You can also find online a copy of the Code of Ethics and Conduct for NGOs. Developed under the auspices of WANGO, this Code is a set of 6 fundamental principles, 9 operational principles, and 132 standards to guide the actions and management of non-governmental organizations. The Code was formulated over a number of years by an international committee representing the wide spectrum of the non-governmental community, and included input from NGO leaders from all regions of the world. It has now been translated into several languages and is widely used by NGOs around the world. You are invited to sign on as a ‘Supporter’ through connecting to the website at: www.wango.org/activities/coecampaign As a premier international membership organization for NGOs and their supporters, WANGO is looking forward to working together with you to accomplish our common objectives.

Once again, we are delighted to have you as part of the Association. We look forward to corresponding with you and hopefully meeting you personally at a future World Congress of NGOs.

With best regards,

Menu
